Secret Mall Apartment
I love stories about people whose whims compel them to do cool and unusual things on the fringes of society, and if this documentary had only been about how eight people managed to build a secret apartment in a pocket of unused space in the bowels of a mall it still would have been wonderfully entertaining. That it’s also about why this group did what they did – that it’s about the purpose and value and essence of art, i.e., what it means to both those who create it and those who experience and are affected by it – elevates Secret Mall Apartment (Jeremy Workman, 2025)) to one of my all-time favourites.
