TV I’m Currently Watching and Liking
(August 20, 2026)

Reacher season 4 (Amazon) – I don’t know what else to say other than, “Hell yeah!” I’ve liked every season of Reacher, as this type of no-nonsense ass-kicking competence porn is my absolute jam. This season, based upon what I’ve seen so far, is probably my second favourite, with season 1 still being the best, then 3, then 2.

Silo season 3 (AppleTV) – This remains one of my all-time favourite shows (I just hope hope hope they eventually nail the landing; it’ll be so disappointing if they don’t). It’s just so well done on every level. Rebecca Fergusson is easily one of the most watchable movie/TV stars ever. The production design is incredible, and the story’s insanely gripping, even though they still do in this season what they did in the previous two, which is to start with a burst of narrative progression, only to take several steps back, then proceed to slow-walk the plot for several episodes until they ramp it all up when it gets to the back third.

One slight critical note: the secondary plot line is only mildly interesting. It’s not AS bad as, say, Kim and the cougar in the first season of 24, but, as of now, at least, it’s an unnecessary time-waster.

Furious (Disney+/Hulu) – This show, about a revenge/sex-criminal serial killer and the messed-up FBI agent who’s hunting her, is both disturbing and bonkers, sometimes all at once. It also moves super fast, burning through two or three episodes worth of plot every hour. A whole bunch of times, I’ve already thought, okay, I guess that’s it, as it seems to resolve everything, only to have it take a totally unexpected turn. I have no idea where this is ultimately going to end up, and I like that a lot.

Ted Lasso season 4 (AppleTV) – I wasn’t so sure about this season for the first couple episodes, as season 3 clearly wrapped it all up, and this totally unnecessary continuation is basically a greatest hits/re-mix, but then they used the Stripes theme during the open tryouts training montage in episode 3, and I gave in.
